11/26/08:

Palm Bay closed out a rough stretch of games on Tuesday night as they suffered their first ever loss to Viera High School by a score of 9-1. Viera was on the attack early and often through the night, as they carved through the injury battered Pirate defense. The lone goal for the Pirates came early in the game when senior Nabil Nassib found sophomore striker Jesse Bathelt for his second goal of the season. The goal brought the score to 2-1 at that point. The Pirates get a bit of rest for the holiday weekend, and don't return to action until next Tuesday when they host Titusville at Pirate Stadium.

11/25/08:

The Pirates suffered yet another frustrating defeat Monday night, as they traveled to Bayside and fell to their arch rival 4-0. The first half was a defensive struggle, with only one goal scored just before the half by Bayside. The Bears then broke the game open in the second half, adding three more goals down the stretch. On a positive note, Palm Bay welcomed back four year starter Scott Macuska to the lineup after being out the first four games due to a committment with the football team. Macuksa will be looked upon to bring some additional physicality and leadership to the defense.

In JV action, the undefeated Pirates improved their record to 3-0 as they took down nemesis Bayside by the score of 4-1. Freshman standout Darren Makowsky distributed three assists during the match, two of which found the foot of Sophomore striker Matt Croft, who scored twice and is on a tear (scoring 6 goals in his first three games). Vlad Alyeksyeyenko and Jonathan Becker also added a goal during the match, while Justin Ramsaran added an assist. Play continues for the Pirates on Tuesday night as they travel to Viera to face a much improved Viera Hawk ballclub.

11/22/08:

Palm Bay bounced back from a slow start on Friday night as they beat previously undefeated Edgewood by a score of 2-1. The Pirates opened the scoring five minutes into the match as Junior midfielder Johann Braithwaite scored his first goal of the season off a nicely assisted pass from Sophomore Jesse Bathelt. Edgewood scored just before the half to tie the game at 1-1. The game remained tied deep into the second half, until Sophomore Danny Berrios found a hole in the defense and fed a beautiful pass to Bathelt, who scored his first goal of the season in dramatic fashion to take the lead 2-1 in the final minutes. Junior goalkeeper Trey Blair also had an outstanding night, making several crucial saves down the stretch prior to suffering an injury. The boys return to action on Monday night as they remain on the road and face rival Bayside.

11/21/08:

The struggling Pirates dropped their third straight game on Thursday night to powerhouse Melbourne by a score of 7-0. Melbourne scored the opening goal with 20 minutes remaining in the opening half, and kept the pressure on the entire match in road to a victory againt the injury laden Pirates. In JV action, the Pirates won their opener vs. the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Sophomore Matt Croft scored both goals for the Pirates. Freshman midfielder Alex Hoffman added an assist. Palm Bay continues play tonight as they take to the road for the first time this season to face Edgewood in Merritt Island. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (JV 5:30).

11/19/08:

The Pirates got off to a rough start yet again on Tuesday night, dropping their second straight game to visiting Satellite by a score of 5-0. The Scorpions jumped out to a commanding 4-0 lead in the first half, then added another goal in the second half to cap the scoring. Palm Bay's defensive struggles continue as they have allowed 11 goals in their first two contents of the season. The Pirates will attempt to bounce back against district foe Melbourne on Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (JV 5:30).

11/13/08:

Palm Bay's five game regular season winning streak ended as they dropped their season opener on Wednesday night to Eau Gallie by a score of 6-2. The Pirates fought hard and kept it close trailing 2-1 at the end of the first half. The Commodores broke the game open midway through the second half when they scored four consecutive goals. Palm Bay sophomore Joao Vicente opened the scoring for the Pirates in the first half as he received a pass from sophomore Eric Grand, beat two defenders and sailed the ball past the outstretched arms of the Eau Gallie goalkeeper. Vicente has now scored in five straight regular season games. Palm Bay also added another goal late as sophomore Justin Ramsaran found a streaking Yhanic Braithwaite who placed the ball in the corner of the net for his first goal of the season. The Pirates return to play next week as they host Satellite on Tuesday night (11/18) at 7 p.m.

11/10/08:

The Pirates struggled early on Saturday in game 1 of the Pirate Pre-season Classic vs. Rockledge, as they fell 5-1. the Raiders came out strong and led at the half by a score of 4-1. Sophomore striker Jesse Bathelt scored the lone goal for the Pirates in the early game.

In game two, (which featured a brother vs. brother showdown) honorary Head Coach Alex Lopez defeated his brother (Palm Beach Gardens Head Coach Francisco Lopez) by a score of 3-1. The Pirates enjoyed the first of what appears to be many sophomore surges this season. Leading the charge was Sophomore striker Jesse Bathelt, scoring two goals during the match to give him three on the day. Sophomores Juerguen Toldeo and Danny Berrios each added an assist. Senior midfielder Cory Baker capped the scoring with a goal late in the second half to seal the win for the Pirates.

11/7/08:

The Pirates look to continue their success from the 2007 - '08 season as they gear up for the regular regular season which begins on Wednesday, November 12th vs. Eau Gallie. Game time is 7 p.m. at Pirate Stadium. The Pirates return a solid core of returning letterman, as well as a handful of newcomers that head coach Brett Keener will look for to make an immediate impact. Seniors Tom Fowler (Midfield) and Mason Evans (Defense) will be looked upon to lead the charge as the Pirates look to make an impact in district play this season.

The 3rd annual Pirate Pre-season Soccer Classic will be held tomorrow (Sat. Nov. 8th) at Pirate Stadium.

Maintain a cumulative 2.0 G.P.A.
Have a completed Physical Evaluation signed by a physician
Student/Parent Consent and Release Form with all necessary signatures
