11/23/09:

The Pirates, who have not allowed a goal in the first half of a game so far this season, had a big second half on Friday night as they defeated host Titusville by a score of 2-0. Senior Ryan Freeman scored the game's first goal minutes in to the second half. Junior Jesse Bathelt also netted his team leading fourth goal of the season. Junior Johnny Matias assited on the first goal, while Senior goalkeeper Alex Gil recorded his second shutout of the season, with the help of a strong effort from the defense.

The boys will be on the road again after the Thanksgiving holiday, traveling to face undefeated Westshore on Monday, 11/30.

11/18/09:

Palm Bay struggled to get things going offensively again on Wednesday, as they fell to rival Bayside by a score of 2-0. The defense, led by Seniors Matt Barr and Johann Braithwaite, kept the Bayside attack in check for most of the night.

The Bears managed two goals in the final 20 minutes of the match, to keep them undefeated on the season. The Pirates will be on the road Friday as they venture to viist the Titusville Terriors. Kickoff times are 5:30 p.m. for JV and 7:00 p.m. Varsity.

11/16/09:

The boys fought hard Friday night against the defending state champion Melbourne Bulldogs, but fell 3-0. Palm Bay held off the Bulldog attack for most of the night, as the score remained 0-0 with under 20 minutes remaining. Melbourne managed three late goals on corner kicks and a set piece, all of which came late in the game.

Palm Bay returns to action at home on Wednesday, as they host arch rival Bayside. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

11/12/09:

The Pirates stormed out of the gates on Tuesday night, recording an impressive 6-0 victory over visitng Astronaut. Junior forward Jesse Bathelt proved why he earned 1st Team All Conference honors last season, as he netted three goals and an assist. Junior Danny Berrios was also involved in the mix, dishing out three assists. Senior Uche Browne-Marke, as well as Juniors Eric Grand and Joao Vicente also added goals. Justin Ramsaran had an assist, and Senior goalkeeper Alex Gil recorded a shutout in his first career start in goal. Senior goalkeeper Billy Dietz also saw action, and recorded two saves in 20 + minutes of action.

The Pirates take to the road on Friday as they visit district rival Melbourne. Kickoff times are 5:30 p.m. (JV) and 7:00 p.m. (Varsity).

11/9/09:

The Pirates looked solid in the pre-season, hanging in both matches until the very end as they fell to powerhouses Rockledge and Sebastian River, each by one goal. Senior defender Johann Braithwaite scored the lone goal for the Pirates against Sebastian River. The defense looked very strong, as they held off both teams for the majoirty of the day.

The boys open the regular season on Tuesday, when they host Astronaut at Pirate Stadium. Kicoff is set for 7 p.m.
