It was a night to be remembered for the graduating seniors, as Aaron Jordan, Sabian Salkey, Dylan Fairchild, and Casey Jensen played in their final home game at Pirate stadium and each had a big impact during the game, which ended up Palm Bay 8 - Brevard Heat 0.
The scoring started early when Sophomore Ben Kendall scored his first goal of the season only 18 seconds into the game. Freshman Tim Waite and Sophomore Michael Brennan each had two goals in the first half, and Freshman Jorge Sierra also contributed his first goal of the season to make the score 6-0 at the half.
The second half was all about the seniors as Sabian Salkey and Dylan Fairchild put their finishing touch on their careers at Pirate stadium, each scoring a goal and ending the game 8-0. Kwang Kim, Colin Sassman, Casey Jensen, and Sabian Salkey each had assists in the match, while Austin Raulerson (2 saves) and Colin Sassman (4 saves) combined for the shutout in goal.
The Pirates travel to Merritt Island to face Edgewood tonight which has historically proven to be an exciting matchup. Kickoff times are 5:30 JV & 7:00 Varsity.
The boys returned to action Monday night, and fell a in hard fought match to visiting Vero Beach by a score of 3-1. The Pirates had several opportunites, but were unable to convert until late in the match when Junior midfielder Berhan McCalla scored his first varsity goal on a left footed rebound shot off of a corner kick. Seniors Casey Jensen and Aaron Jordan both had solid defensive performances.
